Did Octomom Make Too Much From Stripping And Porn To Be On Welfare?
Mo' money, mo' problems: the county is investigating whether Octomom made too much money last year to be on welfare.Someone (perhaps one of her many anonymous haters) filed a complaint that Nadya Suleman was receiving welfare, including food stamps, despite the fact that she raked in $200,000 last year, according to TMZ.
Now the L.A. County Dept. of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation is investigating whether in doing so she committed welfare fraud. Under California law, a family like Suleman's can only receive welfare if she makes less than $119,000 in a year.
It was a bumpy year for Suleman financially. She received death threats after word spread that she went on welfare. But then she was able to make some money in a solo sex video and stripping.
TMZ points out that if Suleman were prosecuted for welfare fraud, she could face up to three years in prison.
