William Faulkner once called Los Angeles "the plastic a**hole of the world," and he certainly wasn't the first, nor will he be the last, to decry our great city as lacking in culture. But haters are always going to hate.In the meantime (as our friends at the New York Times love to discover... and discover and discover), our little backwoods town on the coast has a thriving art scene, and world-class museums to boot.

In honor of #MuseumWeek, we thought we'd share this map of the 226 museums in Los Angeles County, sourced from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and made available through the County of L.A. Open Data collection. Click on any of the points for name and location information.
