Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

An 18-year-old man who was punched in the face by Kanye West after hurling awful racial slurs at Kim Kardashian just received a huge payout.

The man settled for a whopping $250,000 settlement, according to TMZ. That's a quarter of a million dollars for getting punched in the face by Kanye West.

It all started earlier this month, where the man, who was at a Beverly Hills chiropractor's office, starting yelling, "Fuck these faggot-ass niggers," to the paparazzi that hounded Kardashian. When Kardashian told him to not use racial slurs, the man responded, "Fuck you bitch. Just trying to help you. Shut up nigger lover, stupid slut."

That's when Kanye rushed into the office and punched the man square in the face. According to witnesses, Kardashian was screaming, "We got it all on tape."

As a result of the settlement, the man won't be pressing charges, TMZ reports. This means that it's unlikely that Kanye will be facing any sort of criminal prosecution.

Meanwhile, we're still hoping that tape sees the light of day.
