Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

Lindsay Lohan's attempt to kick her career back into gear once she gets out of rehab will be televised for the world.First, Lohan will be getting the Oprah treatment. After Lohan leaves her court-ordered rehab on July 31, she will be sitting down with Oprah for an exclusive interview that will air sometime in August, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Winfrey's cable network OWN has also signed Lohan to eight episodes of a "docu-series" (aka a reality show) that will show the actress working to "rebuild her career and stay healthy." The episodes will air in 2014. We're sure the reality show writers won't have to gin up too much controversy given her reported drama-queen antics.

Though her family participated in "Living Lohan" back in 2008, Lohan has reportedly turned down other offers for reality shows in the past so this is a big deal for OWN.
