Our June member drive is live: protect this resource!
Right now, we need your help during our short June member drive to keep the local news you read here every day going. This has been a challenging year, but with your help, we can get one step closer to closing our budget gap. Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership.

LAist is looking to add some fresh blood to our roster of crack freelance photographers. Assignments vary, but usually involve shooting food, events or locations for stories, and covering some breaking news. Our rates are competitive with other web and independent print outlets, and we pay in a timely manner.

You MUST reside in Los Angeles. Experience with other media outlets is preferred, especially web publishers, since we often need to turn around assignments very quickly, and want shooters who are comfortable in the digital workflow. Can you shoot video, too? Even better.

To apply, please send a very short email to jobs@laist.com with your bio and a link to your digital portfolio. Please put "Freelance Photographer" in the subject field. No attachments please.
