Ladies: Mel Gibson is Totally, Officially, Legally Single Now
It's official. After more than 30 years of marriage, Mel and Robyn Gibson are finito. The couple stuck together for a long time through thick (Mel was reportedly worth $900 million at one point) and thin (there were those alcohol-fueled anti-semitic tirades on the shoulder of PCH and misdemeanor battery charges). They have seven children together and several homes — at least three in Malibu. But today a judge will sign documents officially ending their marriage, according to City News Service.
There aren't any details about the agreement, but the couple never had a prenup since they were together long before Mel became a bona fide star. Robyn sued Mel for divorce in 2009, but the couple separated not long after he got arrested for a DUI in Malibu in 2006. Mel rebounded with Russian pianist Oksana Grigorieva, got her pregnant and then was charged with battery.
Get it while you can, ladies: by day's end, Mel Gibson will be an eligible bachelor.
