All Your Favorite Party Promoters Are Joining Forces To Throw A Massive Homeless Benefit

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

For one night only, every cool L.A. club night will somehow be happening under the same roof.

In lieu of a holiday party, record label and uber-party promoters IHEARTCOMIX are putting together a massive bash next Wednesday, December 21 to raise money and awareness about the city's homeless epidemic.

L.A. Gives Back, as the night has been dubbed, will be sort of like six parties in one: Brownies + Lemonade, Ham on Everything, Emo Nite LA, Space Yacht, Late Night Laggers, Free Grilled Cheese and Restless Nites will all have their own curated rooms with different acts. For a single epic evening, you'll be able to dance your way from Emo Nite to Ham on Everything and back, all without ever leaving the building. And the building in question, for the record, is a pretty cool one—the event will be held at Mitch Edelson's cavernous Arlington Heights club Union, which opened earlier this year.

The full lineup for L.A. Gives Back has yet to be released, but as our friends at L.A. Weekly put it, "when you see the list of promoters involved, you know it's gonna be good." Organizers promise that the night "will feature endless amounts of secret guests and big name talent."

“LA GIVES BACK is exactly that, our community giving back. I wanted to gather together as many of my favorite promoters in LA as I could to make something great happen. This city has made all of us who we are and I’m proud to be a part of a community that can work together," IHEARTCOMIX's Franki Chan said in a press release.

The event is 18+, so all of our under-21 readers don't even have to stress about whether their shitty fake will pass the blacklight test (spoiler alert: it probably wouldn't have). Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here, or at the door. There will be a toy, food, coat, women’s products drive and 100% of all proceeds raised will go to benefit local charities.

One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere. LAist is now 100% community funded and that means we’re taking our future into our own hands and turning to you to keep local reporting strong.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our nonprofit newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit.
