Kanye Rushed The Grammys Stage When Beyoncé Lost Again

Beck winning Album of the Year was a surprise, and not just for the audience. It was a surprise to presenter Prince and to Kanye West, who rushed the stage and acted as if he were going repeat his epic Taylor Swift moment.

There was a lot of stuff that happened at the Grammys tonight. The President popped in with a PSA on domestic violence; Rihanna, Paul McCartney and Kanye did a song together; and Madonna did a sexy Matador routine. But the weirdest thing that happened occurred later in the evening. Prince, dressed entirely in bright orange, took the stage to present the award for Album of the Year.

Prince started off strong and on a serious note. "Albums still matter," he said. "Like books and black lives."

Then, the nominees were announced—Beck's Morning Phase, Beyoncé's Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran's X, Sam Smith's In the Lonely Hour, and Pharrell Williams' Girl. Most people seemed to expect Beyonce to take the statue home, and it wouldn't have been surprising to see it go to Sam Smith, who pretty much cleaned up several other awards, including Record of the Year for the track "Stay With Me."

When Prince read Beck's name, he made a face. It's the perfect reaction meme, so you should probably save it to your hard drive and your phone and send it to anyone who gives you an implausible excuse.

But that's not all! Then Kanye West, who is the premiere expert at upstaging artists who win over Beyoncé, got up on the stage. Just when you thought he was going to interrupt Beck the way he did Taylor Swift in 2009 at the VMAs, he made a 'forget it' motion and sat back down. Guys, the Yeezus has become self-aware!

Beck then performed a song with Coldplay's Chris Martin. Beyoncé would go then later perform a gorgeous rendition of the gospel "Take My Hand, Precious Lord," after being introduced by Gwyneth Paltrow as Paltrow's "beautiful friend."

As for Taylor and Kanye, they seemed to be on good terms tonight.

If you're wondering what this all means, it means that Xenu's powers are greater than The Illuminati's.
