Helen Mirren Offers Amanda Bynes Advice: 'Don't Be Up Your Own Bum'

Dame Helen Mirren has some good (if colorfully phrased) advice for troubled starlets: "Don't be up your own bum!"The 67-year-old Oscar winner was asked if she had any advice for Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan. Of course that has nothing to do with her new movie, Red 2, but Mirren gamely answered the question anyway.
"I don't know if you're allowed to say this on television," she told E! Online, "But don't be up your own bum."
"People get up their own [bum], and you really don't need to," she laughed. "It's the thing of the young. Just... just don't do that."
Mirren, who's been acting since her 20s, said she's made her share of mistakes as well. "We're all idiots when we're young," she told Esquire in 2011. "We don't think we are, but we are. So we should be."
Since Amanda Bynes just tweeted that she wants to have plastic surgery before she gets married, another piece of advice she might want to take from Mirren, who's aged beautifully without it, is not to go under the knife.
"The only thing I don't like on young people is plastic surgery," Mirren told InStyle. "The purity of youthful beauty is so fantastic to me that it’s horrific when young girls get fake things."
