Indie Takeover: El Cid Owner Buys Los Globos in Silver Lake
When Los Globos hosted a FYF Fest pre-show last night featuring Glass Candy and Chromatics, the choice of venue baffled at least one blogger.
What were hipsters doing at a bar that caters to Latinos and other fans of merengue, cumbia and salsa? (Not that the two audiences can't co-exist.)
But something was up. Alexis Rivera of Echo Park Records, told The Eastsider LA, that El Cid owner Steve Edelson bought the venue two months ago. Echo Park Records will be booking music and managing Los Globos.
"It will be a couple of months before we are up and running," Rivera told The Eastsider. "We will be fixing the place up as much as we can."
In the meantime, the site has pictures of the interior renovations. The picture we posted above is from a show at El Cid — and perhaps a hint of things to come for Los Globos.
