Dane Cook at The Laugh Factory THIS WEEKEND! OMG!

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

For all of you Dane Cook fans out there, it's time to put down your retainers and ask mom and dad if it's OK to stay out late this weekend, as Dane himself will be filming a new Comedy Central piece at the Laugh Factory. This is great news for all four people who watched every episode of Tourgasm (you know who you are). Dane will be taking over the Laugh Factory to tape his latest special, Isolated Incident, this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Who knows, he might try to defy the laws of comedy and the WORLD by just doing stand up for all three days without stopping! Take THAT Dave Chappelle! However, it's going to take more than a killer BMX bike and saved-up summer job money to make it to this exclusive shindig. For this special event, you'll only be able to get tickets if Dane says you can. How edgy IS this guy?! Seriously, you have to email 'isolatedincident@me.com', and give them the dish on how long you've been a fan, where you're from / if you're from out of town, where you work (LOL) or go to school (more likely), and how many times you've already seen this master of punchlines perform live, if any. Be sure to also include a quick bit about why you deserve to attend; possible responses include "so you can brag to the rest of your study hall about it" and "to get close enough for a clear shot at him". Winners will be selected and given 2 free VIP to one of the nights he's performing.

Be sure to email isolatedincident@me.com for a shot.

One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere. LAist is now 100% community funded and that means we’re taking our future into our own hands and turning to you to keep local reporting strong.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our nonprofit newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our communities. We are free to follow facts wherever they lead and to hold power to account without fear or favor. Our only loyalty is to our readers and listeners and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen Southern California’s communities.
