Tomorrow night, Tavin Boutique in Echo Park will curate an eclectic mix of vintage and designer clothing, literary stylings and wine. The fourth installment of their Little Birds Reading Series will showcase the work of three writers whose work is perfectly suited for this shop that feels both timeless and au courant all at once. Cherry Vanilla will read from Lick Me: How I Became Cherry Vanilla (By way of the Copacabana, Madison Ave, Fillmore East, Andy Warhol, David Bowie and The Police) which offers readers a raucous, up-close-and-personal look at the NY music scene in the '60's.
L.A. Times Book Prize Finalist Gabrielle Calvocoressi will read from her much-celebrated new poetry collection "Apocalyptic Swing" and Grace Krilanovich (a National Book Foundation's 5 under 35 selection) will read from her deliciously unconventional debut novel The Orange Eats Creeps.
It promises to be an evening that is classically Echo Park. You know the kind. You stumble upon a place, stop to peek in for a moment, only to discover hours later that you've spent the entire night in divine company, Cherry Vanilla licking aside. Don't miss it!
The reading starts at 7:30pm on Friday, November 5 at Tavin Boutique located at 1543 Echo Park Ave.
