Busdriver's Top Ten of 2008
Photo by Joshua Pressman for LAist
December is list-making season. And for us music journalists, it is a time to look back on scores of albums, reflect upon the music and recapitulate our favorites. But this year, just like the last, we took this opportunity to flip that tradition upside down, asking the artists that influenced us what influenced them. The prompt was not limited to albums that came out in 2008.
I think this is what I listened to this year...
10. Deerhoof - Offending Maggie
9. Marnie Stern - This is it...
8. The Mae Shi- HLLLYH
7. Sigur Ros - Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust
6. HotStlz - Lookin' Ass Nigga(single)
5. Kail - Hollywood Squares
4. Max Tundra - Parallax Error Beheads You
3. Group Inerane - Guitars from Agadez
2. Bombay Connection vol. 2 - Bombshell Baby of Bombay
1. Portishead - 3rd
Busdriver - "Unemployed Black Astronaut (Nobody Remix)"
