Britney Spears and Demi Lovato Join X Factor Judges

Britney Spears and singer/songwriter Demi Lovato will join L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell at the judges table on the upcoming season of Fox's The X Factor.
Now that American Idol is down to its final contestants, Cowell is turning viewers' attention toward his new-ish competition, which debuted last fall after he left the judges panel on Idol.
"I'm absolutely delighted Britney and Demi are joining us," Cowell stated in the Fox announcement. "Britney remains one of the biggest stars in the world, she's talented, fascinating - and I believe she knows exactly how to spot The X Factor. Demi's had an amazing career in music, TV and film for someone her age. She's young, confident, and enthusiastic. I think it's really important that she speaks to our younger audience. The new panel will be dynamic and will work really well with the changes we are making to the show."
Spears said that she is a huge fan and is excited to be a part of the action. "Simon and L.A. better watch out!" she said.
Spears and Lovato will replace last season's judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
Unlike Idol, the X Factor considers both solo artists and vocal groups for a chance to win a $5 million recording contract.
