Bobbi Kristina Brown's Boyfriend Found 'Legally Responsible' For Her Death

Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend Nick Gordon has been found "legally responsible" for her death after failing to show up to court for a second time.On Friday, a judge in Fulton County, Georgia issued the default ruling after Gordon was a no-show, reports Atlanta's 11 Alive. Brown died in August of 2015, six months after she was placed in a medically-induced coma when she was found unresponsive in a bathtub. Gordon was sued by her estate that same August, alleging "assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and transferring money from Brown’s account into his own without authorization," according to 11 Alive.
The civil lawsuit accused Gordon of beating Brown days before she was found, and giving her a "toxic cocktail" of drugs. An autopsy revealed that Brown had marijuana, alcohol, a cocaine-related substance, and morphine in her system. Gordon denied the allegations, and was never charged of any crimes.
"The only thing left to prove is the value of her life," R. David Ware, an attorney for Brown's estate, told reporters outside of the court on Friday. "We intend to do that." The lawsuit originally sought $50 million in damages.
Gordon, when reached by phone after the ruling, told CNN he had no comment.
Brown is the daughter of singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. In response to the ruling, Bobby Brown issued the following statement to Us Weekly:
I am pleased with the outcome of today's court proceedings. All I ever wanted was answers relating to who and what caused my daughter's death. Today's judgment tells me it was Nick Gordon. Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this.
