AXE Proximity & 944 Magazine Present Behind the UnScene
On Thursday night, Randy Gerber's Stone Rose at Hotel Sofitel hosted Behind the UnScene, an event touring the country presented by Proximity and 944 Magazine.
Behind the Unscene is a 2-part project, part promotion, and part charity. The first part of the event is a contest in which up-and-coming photographers submit photographs that embody all that is Bergamot, the new Proximity body spray by Axe.
The second part of Unscene is a fundraiser in which various celebrities were given the opportunity to photograph their everyday lives. Participants included Cisco Adler and Shwayze, Rick Schroder, Karina Smirnoff and Michelle Branch. The event Thursday included a silent auction in which guests could purchase the celebrities' photographs. Each celebrity will then donate "a portion of the evening's proceeds to a charity of their choosing."
The Stone Rose Lounge is a beautiful venue for this kind of event, especially the patio area. Catering was provided by Simon LA, where rock-and-roll chef Kerry Simon features traditional American food with "an international flair" and an emphasis on the fresh and organic. The evening's libations were all about Belvedere vodka and provided the unusual opportunity to taste Axe Proximity-inspired cocktails.
