Considered the Academy Awards of the adult industry, the 2014 AVN Awards were held last month inside The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This year's edition, taped for broadcast by Showtime in the spring, featured co-hosts Chanel Preston and Wicked Pictures star Samantha Saint, as well as mainstream comedian Rebekah Kochan and musical guest Machine Gun Kelly.

The big winners included Wicked Pictures' Underworld, which won nine awards including Best Screenplay, Best Director (Feature), Best Drama, and Movie of the Year, and Hard X/O.L. Entertainment's Anikka, with five awards including Director (Non-Feature) and Best Star Showcase. New Sensations writer/director Jacky St. James scored wins for Best BDSM Release (The Submission of Emma Marx) and Best Couples Release (The Temptation of Eve). And winning major awards were Mia Malkova for Best New Starlet, Manuel Ferrara for Male Performer of the Year (his unprecedented fifth), and Bonnie Rotten for Female Performer of the Year. But don't fret, Deenagers! Your favorite male performer won Mainstream Star of the Year (his second consecutive) and Favorite Male Porn Star (Fan Awards).
