Frozen in Time: Images of Antarctica
Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County -- 900 Exhibition Blvd., Exposition Park
The exhibition showcases the work of artist Diane Tuft through 13 large-scale abstract photographs of Antarctica taken in 2012. While on the continent on a National Science Foundation grant, to photograph the depletion of the ozone layer, Tuft focused on the history of climate change recorded within its icy landscape. The exhibition is included with museum admission.

5th Annual Connor Penhall Memorial Cup & Speedway Season Opener

The season openers features more than 50 riders taking to the track, competing for a $13,000 grand prize and the $2,000 custom painted helmet trophy. The event pays tribute to Connor Penhall, an avid racer who was killed by a drunk driver while working construction on the 10.

The series celebrates the creative community through screenings of short films and music videos. For this edition, watch the L.A. premieres of filmmaker Daniel Askill's Universal Machine, featuring music by Philip Glass, and Will Kindrick's Storm; Tierra Whack's Unemployed directed by Cat Solen; Colin Levy's animated documentary My Grandfather's Memory Book; and Black Eyes Peas' Get Ready from filmmaker noMSG.
