Let's Independent! 2nd Anniversary w/ Death To Anders, The Savages & Xu Xu Fang, 8/19/08
Last month, Joe Fielder, whose local music blog Radio Free Silver Lake has been in existence since February 2006, celebrated the second anniversary of his monthly Let's Independent! event, at Boardner's (MySpace) in Hollywood, with performances by Death to Anders (MySpace), The Savages (MySpace), and Xu Xu Fang (MySpace).
Showcasing the best and most promising artists from the local indie music scene, past editions of Let's Independent! have included Great Northern (MySpace), The Movies (MySpace), Division Day (MySpace), The Happy Hollows (MySpace), Let's Go Sailing (MySpace), The Deadly Syndrome (MySpace), Radars to the Sky (MySpace), Rademacher (MySpace), Castledoor (MySpace), The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra (MySpace), Amnion (MySpace), The Monolators (MySpace), Everest (MySpace), Fol Chen (MySpace), and The Parson Redheads (MySpace).
Tonight, Let's Independent kicks off its third year with The Poor Excuses (MySpace), Manhattan Murder Mystery (MySpace), and Tenlons Fort (MySpace). Incidentally, entrance is through Bar Sinister's wrought iron gates just north of Boardner's.
