Rapper LL Cool J is a nice guy--he'll buy strangers a fancy meal--but don't even think about breaking into his home: he'll take you down. And that's exactly what happened last night at Cool J's Studio City residence.According to TMZ, the "NCIS Los Angeles" star heard a commotion downstairs early Wednesday, and went to investigate. Though the would-be burglar had tripped Cool J's alarm system, the star opted to take him down, as in put some "hand-to-hand combat on the dude," per the gossip site.

The Los Angeles Police Department, who confirm they were summoned to the Blairwood Drive home in response to a call of an "intruder in the house," according to City News Service, arrived on scene and found that the rapper had managed to detain the suspect.

The suspect was allegedly bruised in the confrontation, and a rep for LL Cool J says the star is okay.
