Topline:

The man accused of hijacking an L.A. Metro bus and killing one passenger faces a dozen charges, including murder, robbery and kidnapping, after refusing to appear in court Monday.

Why it matters: A passenger, 48-year-old Anthony Rivera, was shot and killed when Lamont Campbell, 51, allegedly hijacked the Metro bus last week in South Los Angeles.

What's the latest? A judge had issued an extraction order for Campbell to appear in court Tuesday after he reportedly refused to attend. Instead, a new hearing for Campbell, who remains in custody, was scheduled for Oct. 29.
