Good morning and welcome to Tuesday. We hope you enjoyed the sunny days while they lasted — we're in for a wet week.
Expect a wet morning commute as the first storm moves into Southern California. Today's rainfall is forecasted to be fairly light, with totals ranging between a quarter and a third of an inch across the region. There's also a 5% chance of thunderstorms.
Another, more powerful storm system moves in Wednesday, bringing with it heavy rain and more mountain snow through Thursday. Periods of heavy rain could trigger mudslides or debris flow in burn scar areas, so now is the time to prep.
Today's temperatures will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. For L.A. County coasts and valleys, expect temperatures to range from 57 to 63 degrees. Orange County coastal areas will see temperatures around 61 degrees, while inland areas will range from 57 to 62 degrees. Cooler temperatures expected in the Inland Empire, where temperatures will range from 54 to 60 degrees.
Chillier conditions are expected for the San Bernardino County mountains, between 36 and 46 degrees for upper elevations, and from 42 to 52 degrees for lower elevations.
In Coachella Valley, temperatures will range from 65 to 70 degrees.
