Spooky season is here and it looks like someone cast a spell on this week, because a warming trend is ahead.

Today's weather is a few degrees warmer than this past cold, wet weekend. That's because the National Weather Service forecasts a warming trend for the week, with Thursday being the peak of the heat.
You can count on our California coast to stay cool with sunshine as highs will be in the low 70s and in the mid 70s for downtown L.A. Over in the valleys, the coolest parts will stay in the low 70s but the hottest areas will reach up to 79.
Inland in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, expect highs in the mid 70s — same goes for Orange County.
Over in the high desert, temperatures will stay in the low 70s but in the low desert, it's starting to warm up with a high of 83.
This day in history
On this day in 1980, it was 116 in Palm Springs and 113 in Borrego Springs, the highest temperature recorded for October.
