Your SoCal Weather Report For Friday, Oct. 13: Enjoy The Cooldown This Weekend

Happy Friday the 13th! Today's weather is cooler and tonight's lows will be chilly — perfect for a horror movie marathon, or other spooky activities.

- Beaches: low 70s
- Mountains/deserts: 60s/75-90
- Inland: 80s

The coastal areas are cooler today with morning clouds and highs in the low 70s, up to 78 in downtown Los Angeles.
Valley highs will drop to the upper 70s in most of the San Fernando Valley, reaching 84 degrees in the hottest areas.
Inland, temperatures will be in the mid to low 80s for Riverside and San Bernardino counties. In Orange County, expect highs in the low 80s, and low 70s along the coast.
The deserts are warmer — 75 for the high desert and 90 in the low desert.
Tonight's lows will be in the 50s, up to 60 more inland.

On this day in 2006, thunderstorms covered San Bernardino bringing almost 2 inches of rain in 30 minutes. Waterspouts were also seen near Catalina Island.
