Your SoCal Weather Report For Monday, May 27: Partly Cloudy And Warmer Days Ahead

-
- Today’s weather: Warm, partly cloudy
- Beaches: upper 60s high, mid 50s low, 1.5" surf
- Mountains: 59 high, 25 low
- Inland: 84 high, 50s low
Happy Memorial Day to all. Though today will start off with the grey skies we’ve become accustomed to over the past month, clouds should burn off by this afternoon providing sunny skies for Memorial Day commemoration events and bbq’s across the region.
If you’re heading to the beach it’ll be cool up and down the SoCal coast, with temperatures reaching the high 60’s with partly cloudy skies. Don’t let those cloudy schools fool you - make sure to still wear your sunscreen.
In Los Angeles highs will reach into the lower 70s, slightly warmer in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. We’re just a few degrees below normal but come Wednesday the areas will see highs in the mid to possibly upper 70s. Nigh time will see temperatures in the upper 50’s tonight and throughout the week.
Orange County will be warmer today than it was over the weekend, with most of inland OC looking at partky cloudy - but mostly sunny skies - in the mid 70’s. Temperatures will drop to the low 60’s tonight.
Out in the Inland Empire it’ll be warmer today too, most of the region will be sunny with highs in the mid 80’s with nighttime temperatures in the low 50’s.
This day in history
On this day in 2019 a late season storm brought 1 to 3 inches of snow to parts of the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountains on Memorial Day.

As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
