About the incoming storm

The National Weather Service says there's another Pacific storm system making its way to the southland this weekend. Early rainfall predictions indicate there'll be 1 to 3 inches of rain falling along the coast and in the valleys, and 3 to 6 inches in the mountains. Forecasters say there's the potential for minor to moderate flooding, mud and rockslides and thunderstorms.

The storm is expected to move into the southland on Friday and linger through Sunday.

Things to do

  • 'Just For Us': Comedian Alex Edelman combines a natural, light-on-his-feet approach to stand-up comedy with a serious presence made for the theater in his one-man show Just For Us back after a sold-out December run for a few more nights at the Mark Taper Forum. The tight 90 minutes about his encounter with a White Nationalist group are funny, heartwarming, terrifying, and relevant. But don’t fret if you missed out on tickets, the show was filmed for HBO and will also be at your streaming fingertips in April.
