It's officially spring! In today's forecast expect sunny skies and slightly cooler temperatures.

Today's highs will be a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday, with the beaches reaching the mid to upper 60s, including some patchy fog until mid morning, low 70s for the inland coastal areas. The valleys high temperatures will max out to 77 degrees, 75 degrees for the Inland Empire.

The National Weather Service says there's the slightest chance of light showers, mainly for the eastern San Gabriel mountains.

Looking ahead, a low pressure system will move inland from the coast, lowering temperatures for a cool weekend. Forecast models show there's a chance of showers Saturday night.
