We've entered the warmest days of the heatwave and that means afternoon highs will be a few degrees warmer today and Thursday.
Monsoonal moisture continues to bring a low but current threat — about 15% to 25% — over deserts and mountains of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Come tomorrow, we can expect drier conditions.
Shifting to the coasts where it will be the coolest — expect afternoon highs in the mid 70s for the beaches, up to 90 degrees for inland coast, and 91 degrees in Paramount. Coastal areas will see dense fog through 9 a.m.
Heat advisories for the Santa Clarita, San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys, the Santa Monica Mountains and the Inland Empire valleys and mountains end at 10 p.m. Thursday. Expect temperatures to reach up to 106 degrees for the Inland Empire, up to 103 degrees for the other valleys and mountains at lower elevations.
Over in the deserts, expect a high of 109 degrees for the high desert and up to 115 degrees for Coachella Valley.
