The last and strongest of this series of storms is moving through Southern California. Today's average temperatures will be on the lower end of the 60s for the southland.

Quick Facts

  • Today’s weather: Rain, chance of thunderstorms
  • Beaches: 60s
  • Mountains: 40s/54-58
  • Inland: 60s
  • Warnings and advisories: Flood Watch

Los Angeles county is currently in the thick of the storm as the heaviest downpour will continue through the morning until noon — that's when showers will begin to taper off. A flood advisory for the western and central portions of Ventura County will expire at 7 a.m.

Residents in Topanga Canyon are urged to stay alert and be ready to evacuate as the storm continues to bring possible mud and debris flow in the area. Yesterday an evacuation warning was issued for the area along Santa Maria Road, just north of Topanga Canyon Boulevard — that warning is set to expire tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Meanwhile Orange County and the Inland Empire will continue to see more moderate rain until the evening and there's a small chance of thunderstorms. A flood watch has been issued for the Inland Empire, Orange County coastal areas and portions of the high desert starting at 9 a.m. until this evening. Remember, if you see a flooded roadway, turn around don't drown.

Snow levels will rise to 7500 feet by early afternoon for the Riverside county mountains and drop to 6500 feet by the evening.
