Rain and some snow incoming

Rain will come to the southland starting Friday night, but still lighter rainfall rates of just a little over a quarter inch is in the forecast.

The latest forecast models say that there's a chance of thunderstorms mainly for L.A. County come Sunday afternoon — which could bring some small stream flooding as thunderstorms bring short periods of heavy downpour — but forecasters still say that the total amount of rainfall is still 2 inches, up to 4 inches across mountain slopes.

The rain will continue into Monday afternoon — about 80% chance to be more concentrated in the mountains. By Tuesday, this storm system will move more south and east of the region.

Average temperatures will be in the lower 60s, with nighttime lows in the mid to upper 40s. Expect cloudy and gray skies for the weekend.
