Your SoCal Weather Report For Tuesday, Dec 26: Air Quality Alert For The Southland
Today's weather forecast will bring mostly sunny skies and, unfortunately, not the best air quality.
Quick Facts
- Today’s weather: Sunny, cool
- Beaches: 60s
- Mountains: 60s/62-74
- Inland: 60s
- Warnings and advisories: Air Quality Alert, Coastal Flooding
Temperatures across the Southland will range in the 60s today — along the coast, expect highs on the lower end of the 60s, up to 65 degrees in Huntington Beach. In the valleys and more inland, the warmest temperatures will reach 69 degrees.
Tonight's lows will drop to the low 50s, down to 49 degrees in the San Gabriel Valley.
About those advisories
You'll have to postpone the burning of the yule log for at least another day.
Indoor and outdoor wood burning continues to be prohibited across most of the Southland today.
The South Coast Air Quality Management District has extended a no burn order until midnight due to high levels of pollution in the air.
The no burn order applies to the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino — except for the desert areas.
And there's a coastal flood advisory for L.A. County beaches and the Malibu coast — expect flooding of water on low-lying areas like parking lots and beaches during high tides. High surf is expected to reach 7 feet. The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. Wednesday to 3 p.m. Thursday.
This day in history
On this day in 1997, it was 0 degrees in Big Bear Lake and 4 degrees at Big Bear Airport.
