Good morning SoCal — some patchy fog is in store for this morning but the clouds will clear away for more afternoon sun.

Temperatures along the beaches are still in the mid to upper 60s. The highest temperatures in the inland coast will reach 70 degrees — that's also for downtown Los Angeles.

In the valleys, average temperatures will range in the low 70s, the highest will be 73 degrees. Expect a high of 71 degrees for Riverside and San Bernardino county valleys, and a high of 70 degrees for inland Orange County.

Nighttime lows will drop to the upper 40s, down to 42 for the San Fernando Valley, and the 30s for the Antelope Valley.

In store for later this week is another Santa Ana wind event and warmer temperatures for Saturday before a potential Pacific storm reaches the southland come Sunday.

About those advisories

A wind advisory has been issued for Santa Clarita Valleys, southeastern Ventura County and the Santa Susana Mountains, where wind speeds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. The advisory will be lifted at 1 p.m.

  • 115th Newport Beach Boat Parade: The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade kicks off this week with more than 100 boats dazzling the night sky with lights and holiday decorations. The parade also features pyrotechnics, synchronized light shows, displays, singers, dancers and other entertainment, which viewers can watch from more than 50 locations along the parade’s 14-mile route around Newport Harbor. This year's grand marshals are Hallmark Channel stars Andrew Walker and Nikki Deloach, who will lead the festivities on opening night.
