Your SoCal weather report for Tuesday, Aug. 27: Slightly cooler on the coasts, warmer for deserts

Happy Tuesday! Today will be slightly cooler along the coast, but about 5 degrees warmer for the desert.

Along the coast you can expect daytime highs in the 70s, mid 80s for inland coast, up to 86 degrees for downtown L.A. and Santa Ana.

It will be hot in the valleys, with highs mainly in the low 90s, up to 96 degrees in Woodland Hills. Even toastier for the inland areas — up to 98 degrees in San Bernardino.

In Antelope Valley and the rest of the high desert, temperatures will range from 92 to 106 degrees, with even hotter temperatures in the low desert, up to 112 degrees in Coachella Valley.

Tonight's lows for most of the Southland will be in the 60s, in the 70s to 80s for Coachella Valley.

The good news is — L.A. County has extended their pool season to Halloween. There's still time to practice your cannonballs.
