Fast-Moving Fire Quickly Grows Thousands Of Acres Near Gorman, As Southland Heads Into Fire Season

A fast-moving brush fire has scorched more than 4,400 acres as of 9 p.m., fueled by gusty winds and hot, dry weather conditions as the Southland braces itself for the wildfire season.
The Post Fire was first reported on Saturday at around 1:45 p.m. at Ralph's Ranch and Gorman School roads near the 5 Freeway.
Evacuation orders have been issued by the Los Angeles County Fire Department for residents living around the Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area, Pyramid Lake, Gorman Post Road and surrounding areas.
There's no reported injury or death.

Winds are expected to pick up tonight across the burning areas and could reach over 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The Gorman fire came just a day after fire officials from seven different agencies across California detailed its wildfire season outlook.

Evacuations
Evacuation orders have been issued for the following communities:
- The Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area, Pyramid Lake, Gorman Post Road and surrounding areas.
A warning is in place for:
- Zones CAS-GOLDENSTATE and CAS-PARADISERANCH, as well as reas south of Pyramid Lake between Old Ridge Route and the LA County line, including Paradise Ranch Estates.
Anyone under an evacuation warning should be prepared to leave.
