Firefighters gain control of Fork Fire in Angeles National Forest

A wildfire that started Friday afternoon in the Angeles National Forest is now at 30 percent containment. Firefighters worked throughout last night to get the fire under control.

The Fork Fire was first reported around 3:23 p.m. Friday and has to as large as 330 acres in size,

Closures include:

  • State Route 39 is closed in both directions at the San Gabriel Canyon Gateway Center near Ranch Road in Azusa.
  • The San Gabriel Canyon is closed to all forest visitors.
