Fire weather to pick back up this week, rain and cooler temps on the horizon
Topline:
We’re still stuck with extreme fire weather conditions, but wet weather and cooler days are right around the corner.
Winds: The strong Santa Ana winds have started to die down Tuesday, but they’re expected to pick back up Wednesday. Bryan Lewis, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, told LAist that it’ll likely trigger more red flag warnings.
Rain: We should see some light rain this weekend, but most of the Los Angeles area will get under half an inch. “ So hopefully that'll bring a little bit of a relief to everybody, including our psyches, after this crazy pattern of fire weather,” Lewis said.
Temperatures: Wednesday and Thursday will warm up quite a bit before temperatures cool down significantly during the weekend storm system. Some areas may see a 30-degree swing.
