Excessive heat warnings will end tonight. Look for temps to top out in the high 90s and low 100s for the valleys and foothills and in the mid 80s for inland areas closest to the coast. Meanwhile at the beaches, temperatures will stay in the 70s.
Desert communities will top out at 111 degrees in Coachella Valley, and 97 degrees for the high desert.
Some detailed forecasts:
- 72 degrees in Santa Monica
- 104 degrees in Woodland Hills
- 92 degrees in Whittier
- 78 degrees in Costa Mesa
Tonight's lows will drop to the 60s for most of the Southland expect for low 80s and upper 70s for the deserts.
