Cooler conditions and chance of thunderstorms for SoCal as moisture from Mexico moves in

-
- Today’s weather: Mostly cloudy
- Beaches: 73-78 degrees
- Mountains: 83-90 degrees
- Inland: 80 - 88 degrees
- Warnings and advisories: None
Southern California's cloudy mornings and afternoon thunderstorms are courtesy of remnants from Tropical Storm Juliette moving into the region after north from Mexico's coast.
The National Weather Service office in San Diego forecasts that the greatest chance rain is for Riverside and San Diego counties. But L.A. could still see a 10% to 20% chance of thunderstorms, mainly in the Antelope Valley.
The good news is that the weather will be slightly cooler with mostly cloudy skies.
For coastal areas, that means highs up to 78 degrees for L.A. County beaches and up to 83 degrees for the Orange County coast.
The San Fernando Valley could see highs as low as 77 degrees, maxing out at 92 degrees for warmer areas.
For the San Gabriel Valley and areas around downtown L.A., you'll see highs in the mid 80s.
The Inland Empire will also get a taste of that cool down where high temperatures aren't expected to surpass 88 degrees. And in Coachella Valley, temperatures retreat to around 93 degrees.

Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
