Cheers to Malibu Family Wines, Named One of California's 10 Best Wineries With a View
Hey now, Los Angeles County! Way to represent in a list of California wineries that deliver the vino and the view. Among the ten wineries named the best in our grape-producing state that happen to offer some sumptuous landscape to lap up while sipping down a few glasses, Frommers selected Semler Malibu Family Wines, the lone SoCal selection in the bunch.
Frommers points out that the winery is in an "up-and-coming wine growing area," and applauds what you see and what they offer:
On the 65-acre property are old barn structures, camels, wildflowers, and heart-stopping views of the countryside, which is something most visitors to Los Angeles rarely see. Eight varietals are planted by the winery, ranging from a bright, light Sauvignon Blanc to an intense red like Semler King of the Mountains Cuvee. (There is even an ice wine and a sparkling wine.) They can all be sipped in the on-site tasting room.
We're definitely fans of the winery and their tasting events in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains:
This is a communal spot and an opportunity to get outdoors, support a local winery, enjoy each other's company and make new friends. All that is best seen on weekend nights in the summer when hundreds of people gather at the property to be among their friends and family.
Cheers to enjoying wine with a view in L.A. County!
