LA County Announces 5,014 New COVID-19 Cases, 16 New Deaths

L.A. County health officials on Sunday confirmed 5,014 new cases of coronavirus and 16 new deaths. Currently, there are 1,809 people hospitalized with COVID-19, and 24% of those individuals are in the ICU.
Today’s numbers bring the total number of cases to 383,275, and the total number of deaths to 7,580.
The numbers come two days after county officials announced the details of a new stay-at-home order. The order includes not gathering with people from different households, reducing the maximum capacity of businesses, and the closure of some public spaces.
L.A. County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer begged residents to follow the order on Saturday, and did not mince words about the possible outcome if they fail to do so.

Ferrer hinted that if numbers keep going up, tighter restrictions may be put in place.
