In LA County, 933 New COVID-19 Cases And Five Deaths
L.A. County public health officials on Sunday confirmed 933 new cases of the coronavirus and five new deaths attributed to the disease.
Those figures bring the total in the region to 274,565 positive cases and 6,647 deaths. Currently, there are 673 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in L.A. County. Of those, 28% are in the intensive care unit.
The latest numbers represent a downward trend of daily cases and deaths; on Saturday, 1,062 new cases and 17 deaths were announced; on Friday, 1,041 new cases and 34 deaths; on Thursday, 1,148 new cases and 35 deaths were announced.
However, weekend reporting typically lags behind weekday statistics.
To date, more than 2.7 million tests have been conducted in L.A. County, and 9% of those have come back positive.
