LA Galaxy Ends Contract With Aleksandar Katai Over Wife's Social Media Posts

The L.A. Galaxy soccer team has ended its contract with Aleksandar Katai over social media posts made by his wife. The Instagram posts, which have now been deleted, included a call for police to kill protesters.
According to the L.A. Times:
The first post [was] a screenshot from a video of police attempting to drive an SUV through protesters in New York with text, written in Serbian, that translates as “kill the ... !” The second shows what appears to be a looter running away with boxes of Nike shoes below an English-language caption reading “Black Nikes Matter."

Katai has condemned his wife’s comments. He played two games for the Galaxy before the pandemic halted the season, but he was expected to be a key player when Major Leage Soccer eventually resumes play.
