MONDAY DINNER
Ray’s & Stark Bar, from the Patina Restaurant Group, is offering a special menu of $10 per course (with a three course minimum) on Monday nights from 5-10 pm. Every member of the table has to participate in the special menu. But here’s the real deal: Bring your own bottle of wine for free corkage on the first bottle ($15 for every bottle after). Free parking to boot in the LACMA parking lot off 6th Street starting at 7 pm. The Monday dinner deal is available through May 2.
BEER NIGHT*
It’s Beer Appreciation Night at the Spring Street Smokehouse tonight at 7 pm. Special guests Lagunitas Brewing Co. from Petaluma will help guide tasters to some old favorite and special releases. Reservations recommended: 213-626-0535.

Two great shows tonight: Joseph Arthur takes to the stage at Bardot Hollywood at 10:30 pm to celebrate the one-year anniversary of It’s a School Night. (Free with RSVP.) He’s prepping for the release of 'The Graduation Ceremony' on May 24. And fresh of her Friday night Coachella performance, Lauryn Hill plays the Nokia Theatre tonight—we think it’s sold out—though it’s nowhere to be found on the Nokia site.

April is National Poetry Month, and tonight Red Hen Press celebrates by offering
Poetry at the Geffen at 7:30 pm. Moderated by Douglas Kearney—a great poet in his own right—the evening features work and readings by Katharine Coles, David St. John and Patricia Smith. Tickets: Admission: $20/Students and Seniors $10.
