    Topline:

Metro next week is releasing two limited-edition TAP cards in honor of the late hip-hop icon Nipsey Hussle, who was shot to death in 2019. A limited number of cards will arrive on what would have been Nipsey’s 40th birthday and celebrate his cultural impact and support of public transit.

What will they look like? There will be two styles available. The “Crenshaw & Slauson” design features a black-and-white horizontal portrait of Nipsey on the streets of Crenshaw. The “Watts” design is a color-stylized horizontal portrait of Nipsey on a Metro bus.

When will they be available? Only 12,000 of the exclusive TAP cards will be released starting Aug. 15. You can get yours at any of the six Metro Customer Centers. Metro station ticket vending machines at Hyde Park, Crenshaw, Slauson, Compton, Hollywood/Vine, and Expo/Crenshaw will also carry the cards.
