    SoFi will host storied football rivalry Oct. 13

    Topline:

    Warren High School and Downey High School will take their showdown under the Friday night lights to Sofi Stadium come October. 

    Why it matters: This is the first time a high school football game will take place at the stadium, home to the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers and Rams.

    The backstory: The battle between the Warren Bears and the Downey Vikings goes back to 1958. The schools sit just a mile apart. One of the most popular games in October of 2021 reeled in a crowd of more than 8,000.

    In their last matchup, Warren beat Downey 49-22.

    How to attend: The game will take place on Oct. 13 and the winner will be invited back to be recognized on L.A .College Bowl night on Dec. 16. Presale tickets for the game are live on Ticketmaster. The official sale starts tomorrow.
