      The theatrical event returns to The Bourbon Room for a six-week holiday run with an all-new immersive staging. The show pays homage to Tim Burton’s 1990 film Edward Scissorhands and features renditions of pop hits including "What Was I Made For?" (Billie Eilish), "Dream On" (Aerosmith), "Uninvited" (Alanis Morissette), "Like a Prayer" (Madonna), "I’m Every Woman" (Chaka Khan), "Shallow" (Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper), "Shake It Off" (Taylor Swift) and "Fast Car" (Tracy Chapman).       Author David Kipen discusses Dear California: The Golden State in Diaries and Letters, a follow-up to his book Dear Los Angeles. He explores the state through a collection of diaries and letters from renowned figures and undiscovered voices including politicians, actors and artists.       Ahead of the holiday comedy's release, Candy Cane Lane, Prime Video, and the American Red Cross team up for a blood drive on Giving Tuesday. The Culver Theater transforms into a holiday wonderland filled with props and set decor from the movie (which stars Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross) along with holiday activities, photo opportunities and entertainment. If you can’t make the blood drive, donors who give blood, platelets, or plasma between Dec. 1 and 31 will have the chance to win one of 12 prize packages.

      The MoMA Contenders series returns to the Hammer, screening important and groundbreaking films as selected by the Museum of Modern Art before the upcoming awards season. Screenings include introductions and post-screening conversations with filmmakers, cast and other guests. The series kicks off this week with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer screening in 70mm, followed by a Q&A with cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema.

      Genghis Cohen brings back its Hanukkah ice cream collaboration for the fourth year running. Owners Marc Rose and Med Abrous of Call Mom teamed up with McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams for this year’s limited-edition Hanukkah treat: Babka Streisand. The ice cream includes Streisand’s favorite Brazilian coffee ice cream with fudge swirls and chunks of chocolate hazelnut babka from Cake Monkey Bakery. The ice cream will be available by the scoop ($7) when dining at Genghis Cohen or by the pint ($14). The flavor will also be sold by the pint at all McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams shops while supplies last.
