Your Guide To Los Angeles County School Closures (Right Now All Of Them)

Updated: March 30, 2020
There are 80 public school districts in Los Angeles County alone -- including the nation's second-largest, Los Angeles Unified. Together they serve over a million children.
Today, all of them are closed.
LA Unified announced on March 13 that it was shuttering campuses for at least two weeks. Other districts quickly followed suit, announcing shutdowns ranging from two to five weeks (some of those closures include previously scheduled spring recesses). Soon after, most of the closures were extended through early May.
The Los Angeles County Office of Education has released a list of all public school districts in the county that are closed. It includes schools run directly by the county office.

At a press conference on March 13, LAUSD Supt. Austin Beutner announced that the district will offer televised and online learning for students. Other districts are developing their own plans for remote learning.
