Sharon McNary, Infrastructure Correspondent
Infrastructure is what we build together to make life better (and the things that break). My role is to reveal the often-surprising and important systems that make life possible in and around L.A.
I'm probably the only reporter in L.A. who's built water systems — that was one of my jobs during my Peace Corps service in Bolivia, where I became fluent in Spanish. I'm also a military veteran. But most of my career has been spent as a reporter working at newspapers, wire service, TV and public radio.
I'm a native Angeleno who's lived all over Southern California and covered most of the classic beats — law enforcement, education, government, and immigration. When I'm not working, I like to read, sew, knit, swim, bike and run.
