From the consequences of climate change to the next Big One, the threat of another natural disaster is never far away. I help Southern Californians understand the science shaping our imperfect paradise and get them prepared for what's next.

I did that with our podcast "The Big One: Your Survival Guide," which delves deep into how a giant San Andreas earthquake could change our lives here forever, and how you can prepare for it.

Prior to the past two years as KPCC/LAist's science reporter, I focused on tech coverage, with pieces airing on NPR. And I dove deep on California's complicated and dramatic transition from illegal to legal marijuana.

I've been obsessed with understanding the world around me since I was a kid growing up in L.A. Curiosity drove me to start working in public radio when I was 17. And early on I spent some time at NPR in Washington, D.C. and as a producer on Take Two.
