There Will Be A Lightsaber Vigil For Carrie Fisher In Downtown Disney On Wednesday

It would be an understatement to say that Carrie Fisher's passing has been felt by many. Fisher was an idol to countless people, not just as Princess Leia, but also as an author, a vocal figure on the topic of mental illness, and a certifiably cool person in general.
As such, fans nationwide have been staging events in her honor, and one will be happening just outside Disneyland on Wednesday night. So far, more than 150 people have confirmed on Facebook that they'll be going to a lightsaber vigil for Fisher, which will take place in Disney's Downtown District starting at 7 p.m. Attendees will be meeting outside the former House of Blues (which apparently is vacant at the moment).
While lightsabers are obviously encouraged, an admin for the event's Facebook page says that only plastic ones will be allowed into the park, not metal ones. Also, as noted on Disneyland's FAQ page, guests who are 14 and over aren't allowed to wear costumes or masks, so leave that Max Rebo getup at home.
The parking for Downtown Disney is free for the first two hours. An additional two hours may be validated at the AMC theater or at one of the table-service restaurants. After that, it'll be $6 for each half hour, with a $36 maximum.
Downtown Disney is at 1580 Disneyland Dr, Anaheim. The event starts at 7 p.m. tonight, with attendees meeting in front of the former House of Blues.
